2008
· He won the 100 metres at the DN Galan meet on July 22,2008
· He easily won the 100m race at the Melbourne Grand Prix athletics meet.
· IAAF Japan Grand Prix in Osaka he was 2nd in the men’s 400m.
2007
· He was named male athlete of the by the Inter-national Athletics Association Federation's (IAAF).
· He broke his own 100m-world record with a time of 9.74 s 100m at the IAAF Reii Grand Prix.
· He was placed 3rd in the 200m race at the Prefontaine Classic track and field meet in Eugene.
2006
· He one of three runners to win all six European Golden league events in one season, earning $250,000. He was also named men’s track and field athlete of the year.
· He won gold at the Commonwealth Games.
· He equaled is first world record twice. 2005 · He ran a spectacular time of 9.77s in the 100m to brake American Tim Montgomery previous world record of 9.78s at the Athens Super Grand Prix meet
· He ran a world-leading 9.84 on May 7 at the Jamaica International Invitational meet and followed that up with times of 9.84 (wind-aided) and 9.85 at a meet in Ostrava, Czech Republic
2004
· He did not win a medal at the Athens Games in 2004, finishing fifth despite having run under 10 seconds nine times
2003
He came to the attention of the athletics world at the 2003 World Championships when he suffered the ignominy of being 'the other athlete' disqualified for a false start in the quarter-final where Jon Drummond memorably refused to leave the track having suffered the same fate (both athletes moving less than 0.1 seconds after gun firing)
