The snazzy spikes of Jamaican sprinter Asafa Powell just before he claimed an easy victory in the 100-metre heat at Beijing's Bird Nest stadium on Friday morning. Powell, one of the favourites for a medal in the blue riband Olympic event, later advanced to the semi-final round. The 100m final will run off this morning.
